Check

An independent check of your structural design set before expertise or construction — every finding tied to a sheet, reviewed and signed by an engineer.

PDF · DWG · IFCFindings A · B · CSigned by an engineer

A report you can issue, price or answer from

01

Findings by sheet

Every finding names the sheet and the place on it, with a class: A — fix before issue, B — fix in the next revision, C — remark. Marked-up copies show each finding in red on the sheet.

02

Drawings against model and calculation basis

Sheets compared with the IFC model, the calculation basis and each other: title blocks, revisions, notes, cross-references and references to standards.

03

Engineering decisions with references

Each A and B finding comes with a proposed fix and its reference — the applicable standard, the project requirement or our decision base.

04

Interfaces with other disciplines

Where the structure meets architecture and building services: openings, embedded items, levels and support conditions checked across the sets.

05

Readiness verdict and expertise answers

A clear verdict for the set — ready to issue, or rework needed — with the findings that decide it. Draft answers to expertise remarks when you need them.

06

Cost drivers and optimisation

Quantity take-off of the main structural items, the cost drivers in the design and proposals to reduce them — savings shown as engineer-verified quantity differences.

Four steps, from the sheet list to closure

  1. 01

    Send the set

PDF drawings with the sheet list, the IFC model if there is one, and the explanatory note or calculation basis.

  2. 02

    We check, foundations to roof

Sheet by sheet against the model, the calculation basis and the other disciplines. Software searches and cross-references; an engineer reviews every finding.

  3. 03

    Report

Findings by sheet with marked-up copies, engineering decisions and the readiness verdict, signed by the responsible engineer. The turnaround is fixed in the offer.

  4. 04

    Closure loop (optional)

We check the revised set against the open findings until each one is closed or formally accepted.

Our own engineering platform: StructBoard

We built StructBoard for our own engineering work: IFC geometry and the structural model, check streams per discipline, a decision base built on our projects — every decision with its sources, options and an independent check — a standards registry, drawing search and revision comparison, Tekla automation and status updates to your phone.

Software does the searching and the cross-referencing. The engineering judgement — what is wrong, how much it matters and how to fix it — stays with an engineer.

For whoever has to rely on the drawings

Clients ordering design

Know what you are receiving before the set goes to tender, expertise or site — with every gap named and classed.

Contractors before pricing

Gaps, conflicts and cost drivers found before they become a price risk or a change on site.

Designers before expertise

A second structural engineer reads the set before the expert does, and helps answer the remarks afterwards.

Experience15 years of structural practice: precast concrete and prefabrication, steel structures from KM design to KMD fabrication drawings, on projects in Estonia, Latvia and Sweden — Baltic and Scandinavian practice. We read a design set the way the factory and the site will read it.

Per drawing set

The fee depends on the size of the set, the disciplines included and whether you need the closure loop or draft answers to expertise remarks. Send the sheet list or the drawings and we reply with an offer within 24 hours.

Start with one part of the set — for example the precast or the steel drawings — and judge the report before a full check.

Before you send the set

What do you need from us?

The drawing set as PDF with the sheet list. The IFC model and the explanatory note or calculation basis if they exist. DWG files help but are not required.

Is this a design expertise?

No. It is a pre-expertise check: it prepares the set for the expertise and helps answer the remarks. The formal expertise is a separate procedure, and this check does not replace it.

What does the software do, and what does the engineer do?

Software reads the sheets, compares them with the model and with each other and drafts the findings. An engineer reviews every finding, sets its class and writes the decision; nothing reaches you unchecked.

Which standards do you check against?

The standards and requirements that apply to the project: Eurocodes with the national annex of the project country, and the requirements written into the design brief.

Where does our data go?

Your drawings are used only for your project. Storage, access and deletion after the project are written into the offer.

Who signs the report?

The report is issued by Grey Gecko and signed by the responsible engineer. The designer stays responsible for the design.
