Precast concrete design and Tekla detailing
Defined engineering and drawing packages for precast factories and contractors. We agree the inputs, design responsibilities, drawing format and review process before detailing starts.
Work shaped around your production package
Structural design
Design of precast concrete members, supports and connections where this is included in the agreed scope. We record the governing requirements and calculation responsibility for each package.
Tekla modelling
Element modelling, geometry and interfaces for coordination with the project's architectural, structural and building-services information. The model exchange format is agreed with your team.
Production information
Element, reinforcement and assembly drawings, including openings and cast-in items where applicable. Deliverables follow the factory's templates, checking process and release procedure.
What we need from you
- Project location, building type, element families and approximate quantities.
- Current design stage, architectural and structural drawings or models.
- Design criteria: loads, material and fire requirements, exposure conditions and applicable national requirements.
- Factory standards, preferred details, inserts, lifting system and available product data, if applicable.
- Required software and exchange formats, drawing language, programme and review milestones.
What you receive
We define a delivery register with the proposal. Depending on scope, it may contain structural calculations, Tekla model files, IFC exports, element and reinforcement drawings, connection details and a revision list.
Final manufacturing approval, proprietary component selection and design sign-off are assigned in the contract and coordinated with the factory and lead designer.
A controlled route to production
Define the package
Agree element types, input maturity, interfaces, responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
Model and review
Develop the model and drawings against the agreed inputs; record queries and revisions.
Release deliverables
Issue the agreed files and drawing register after the specified review steps.
Price and programme
What drives the fee?
Element count and repetition, connection complexity, reinforcement density, input quality, drawing standards, coordination rounds and design responsibility.
What drives the schedule?
Availability of approved inputs, number of element types, review turnaround and production release sequence. We agree milestones for a defined package.
Can you take a small pilot?
Yes. A limited element family or drawing batch is a practical way to agree templates, checking and communication before a larger assignment.

Wiru Health Center
Grey Gecko's project documentation records detailed structural design, a Tekla model and construction drawings for the Wiru Health Center in Estonia. This is an example of our engineering and modelling work; the scope of any new precast production package is agreed separately.

Include the project location, element types, available model or drawings, factory standard and the decision you need from us. We will review the information and propose a defined scope.
